Maybe it doesn't all suck after all

Today I got approval to hire my applicant! I guess the Magic Eight Ball that came back "try again later" last time came up with a "yes" this time. But, whatever. I hope she calls me tomorrow (I left her a voicemail today) so I can get dates lined up, etc.

Also, I did Bridget's end of probation review today. We got to talk a few little things out and I got to tell her how wonderfully she's doing and how much I love having her at Omega. And she told me that she likes her job for the most part, so that made me really happy.

Then she did her review of me as her team leader, and she gave me a glowing review. Apparently the weaknesses I know I have as a supervisor are not as immediately obviously as I sometimes think. Her only critique is that I should take more breaks, especially a lunch break. This is becoming a running refrain from everyone around me, so I am really glad I have that week off coming up.

The Big Boss was in a tizzy, but mostly at other people, so my Wednesday did not suck.
