Cats

Puck still hasn't come home. He hasn't been home since Tuesday evening, and we are getting really worried. He is probably locked in someone's garage or shed; I even think I heard him yelling earlier today, but not for long enough for me to locate him. Anyway, he has done this before (been missing for a week or more), so I still hope to see him soon. Russ and I have been leaving notes in all our neighbour's mailboxes, asking them to check their garages, etc., and have put up some posters too.

And somehow Zoey, our indoor cat, got outside in the middle of the night on Friday and was in quite the panic to be let in very early Saturday morning. She insisted on sleeping on me for the next couple of hours.

I hate wandering and worrying. I want Puck home now.

I hope Puck comes home soon. I have heard that it helps to put out his kitty litter box if he is just lost (his own smell) but this sounds more like he got trapped by people going away for a vacation (the good news on that scenario is that he would be found tomorrow). Best of luck.

this trick worked when EmmaCat was gone for three days. She came home within about half an hour.

Unfortunately, one of the (many) reasons that Puck is a partially outdoor cat is that he will not use a litter box. I don't think putting out Zoey's litter box will help...

I might put his favourite blanket out. But if he is locked in a shed or garage, it won't matter much. But thank you for the suggestion!

Other thoughts:

He might be thirsty. Maybe leave out a bowl of water in case you are not home when he arrives?

He might have gone back to your old place. Maybe leave some notices around that area too?

Have you checked the SPCA?

We don't have to check the SPCA, because he has an ear tattoo that will make them call us if he shows up there. Also, he hasn't lost his collar in years, so there's a pretty good chance that he will still have it this time too.

I should put out water - thank you for the suggestion! And I'll send Russ up to our old place tonight with posters. We doubt that's what's happened, since he has been going in and out of the new place for almost a month now, but it never hurts to check.
